Come and Join the Parish Quilting Group!
The Parish Quilting Group has started its fall
session with determination! We have begun to
make a Queen Size, Log Cabin design, bed quilt for auction in the
Spring of 2011. This quilt, in shades of blue and
cream, will make a lovely gift for a spring bride, or enhance the
design of a newly decorated bedroom! As well, we
continue our mission to make prayer quilts for those we know who are
in need. Please join us on the first Monday of
every month at St George’s at 7:30 p.m. The next meeting is on
Monday October 4th. Even if you have never quilted
or sewn before, you will are most welcome as we learn this skill
together under the tutelage of Kristyn McCoy. Mark
the date on your calendar and watch this space for more details. If
you need any further information, please contact
Kristyn at 666-2785 or Lynn at 232-9190.

Nicaragua Outreach
Kristyn McCoy will be travelling to Nicaragua in January to
teach sewing and quilting to women in a small
village called Niquinohomo. If you have any sewing supplies
or fabric you do not need and would be able to donate
to the women in Nicaragua, please contact Kristyn at
519-666-2785. They are also in need of zip up or button up
sweaters for the hospital, as the air-conditioning is quite
cool. Kristyn is also taking pledges for a Sew-a-Thon in
September to raise money for this mission trip, as the group
is trying to raise an additional $5000 to donate to the
program. Thanks in advance for your support.
