“You want to go where everybody knows your name”.

These words may be most familiar to you as part of the theme song of the sitcom “Cheers”, which was popular in the 1980’s, but they certainly apply to the parish of Grace and St. George’s. For generations God’s people have come together in these places to hear God’s Word, be nourished by God’s Sacraments and to then go out and share the Good News of God in Christ in the world.

This world we live in is becoming more and more anonymous. At times we are seen not as people, but as dollar signs, the one who will buy that car or house. And we get fooled into believing the lie that we have to accumulate possessions to be of any worth. We believe the lie on t-shirts and bumper stickers that states “the one who dies with the most toys wins”.

Yet in the midst of this anonymous, rat-race of a world there is Good News! God wants to know each of us not because we can generate Him a profit, but because we are people of value that God has uniquely created, that God loves and cares for more than we can imagine.

Here in the Parish of Grace and St. George’s we invite you to experience God’s transformative love, where you may truly know and be known by God and the people of God in these places. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Daniel Bowyer+ and the People of Grace and St. George’s
